چکیده

The purpose of this study was to investigate the features of different footwork (walk, run and jump in different intensities) by accelerometer and gyro. The features of footwork are determined by observing the characteristic of digital signal. Fifteen healthy male college students were recruited in this study. A self-made wireless inertial measurement unit (200 Hz) was attached to the participant’s left foot to observe the features of different footwork. Oneway repeated measures ANOVA was used to determine the difference among axes. Paired t-test was used to determine the difference between intensities. The significant level was set at α = .05. The range of acceleration change in anteroposterior axis is significantly larger than other two axes. The range of angular velocity change in frontal axis is significantly larger than other two axes. We can observe that each footwork has its own special pattern in angular velocity (frontal axis). Therefore, combining accelerometer and gyro is capable of determining different footwork (walk, run and jump). And the intensity can be determined by the range of acceleration change in anteroposterior axis.

A Novel MEMS Gyro North Finder Design Based on the Rotation Modulation Technique

Gyro north finders have been widely used in maneuvering weapon orientation, oil drilling and other areas. This paper proposes a novel Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) gyroscope north finder based on the rotation modulation (RM) technique. Two rotation modulation modes (static and dynamic modulation) are applied. Compared to the traditional gyro north finders, only one single MEMS gyroscop...

Gravity compensation in accelerometer measurements for robot navigation on inclined surfaces

Accelerometers are used in most robot navigation systems as sensors for robot speed and localization. Normally, these accelerometers sense the body acceleration, which is integrated to determine the robot velocity, and cumulatively the robot position relative to the starting position. When the robot is moving on a horizontal surface, the computed speed will in general reflect the actual robot s...

Velocity-Aided Attitude Estimation for Helicopter Aircraft Using Microelectromechanical System Inertial-Measurement Units

This paper presents an algorithm for velocity-aided attitude estimation for helicopter aircraft using a microelectromechanical system inertial-measurement unit. In general, high- performance gyroscopes are used for estimating the attitude of a helicopter, but this type of sensor is very expensive. When designing a cost-effective attitude system, attitude can be estimated by fusing a low cost ac...
